GF).

Is the segment of the communication satellites operated by
Inmarsat.

TDM Time Division Multiplex. Process by which multiple signals
can share the same communication channel using a different
time slot.

TDMA Time Division Multiple Access. The proces by which SES's
communicate with CES or NCS. The Inmarsat C system uses
two types of TDMA channels (a message channel for
preassigned TDMA and a signalling channel for random
access.

Time Slot Basic unit into which one time-frame of a TDMA channel is
divided.
Transponder A piece of equipment that responds to some type of
interrogation, such as SART (responding to radar signals).

TX Transmitter

UTC Universal Time Co-ordinated (same as GMT and Z)

UHF Ultra High Frequency (300 - 3000 Mhz)
